Single Housewives of Real Housewives
by Nick Pell
Not all of the “real housewives” are still housewives. Over the course of the show, many have become single or divorced. Still others have never been married. These “real housewives” are on the market and ready for dating.
The Real Housewives of Orange County
Tamra Barney changes quite a bit during her time on The Real Housewives. Starting off as a real estate agent, she loses her job due to the economic downturn. She later sells her fabulous house short for a half million dollar loss and has her husband divorce her.
Taylor Armstrong is one of the most popular housewives and also one of the most
controversial. She has had a number of setbacks in her life, but the most prominent one in the media has been her separation from her husband. Very soon after the separation, her husband committed suicide. However, Taylor also shows a tremendous amount of inner strength in both her personal and professional life. In fact, one of her famous quotes from season one is, “It may look like I have it all, but I want more.” She also had a great quote in season 2: “I finally found my voice, and I’m not afraid to use it.”
Rossi is the youngest “housewife” on the Orange County version of the show. Formerly engaged to a man 24 years older than her, her fiancée died of leukemia after season four. Gretchen has since started her own line of handbags and released a single at a gay night club in Costa Mesa.
Jo De La Rosa
Don’t go looking for a woman named “Jo De La Rosa” — it’s not her real name.
Viewers may remember the difficulty De La Rosa had adjusting to being a real housewife. She left the show after the second season after moving to LA in relation to a recording contract.
The cougar of Real Housewives, Quinn started off the show with a boyfriend half her age. She immediately sparred with her fellow housewives, whom she described as “catty.” A committed Christian, Real Housewives covers Fry’s quest to find true love and marriage. She left the show after the third season but keeps in touch with Jenna Keough.
Tammy entered the show as a single mother of three during the second season. Jenna Keough recommended her. Once a housewife, she later had to downgrade her lifestyle to a mere $1.3 million rental house. Knickerbocker exited the show after the third season, but made a guest appearance during season four.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta
When we first meet NeNe she’s in the midst of her divorce from Gregg Leakes. When not appearing on reality television, NeNe runs the Twisted Hearts Foundation that helps women dealing with domestic violence. This organization was investigated for money laundering, as it is a non-profit LLC, not a charity. NeNe later had to declare bankruptcy in relation to extensive unpaid rent. In addition to Real Housewives, NeNe has appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice and Maury.
Ms. Sheree Whitfield gets her surname from her ex-husband, former Atlanta
Falcon Bob Whitfield. A court denied her alimony at the time of her divorce, a decision she later unsuccessfully appealed. The first two seasons of Real Housewives follow Whitfield attempting to start her own clothing line. She is currently pursuing a career in acting, including an appearance on the hit BET drama The Game.
Fans of 80s dance and R&B will remember Kandi from Xscape, whose big hit was “Just Kickin’ It.” Kandi also penned the TLC hit “No Scrubs.” She still writes and produces music, with clients like Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey and ‘N Sync. She was romantically linked with A.J. Jewell who died from a head wound obtained working at a gentleman’s club that he owned.
Lisa Wu Hartwell
Lisa Wu-Hartwell comes from Inglewood, CA but now lives in Atlanta. From a mixed-race background, her father is Chinese-American, while her mother is Afro-Caribbean. Things haven’t always been great fro Wu-Hartwell, who filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2007. She has two children with Keith Sweat, to whom she was married for ten years.
